Position Summary
Blue Water Benefits Administrators is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Supervisor to support daily operations and serve as a frontline leader for our claims and customer service teams. This role is responsible for guiding adjusters, customer service representatives, and team leads; monitoring performance and quality; assisting with benefit interpretation; and ensuring workflows are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on health care professional with strong technical knowledge of medical claims, a passion for coaching others, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Support & Leadership
- Serve as a primary resource for adjusters, customer service representatives and team leaders
- Provide daily guidance, coaching and direction to support quality performance and professional development
- Act as a liaison between staff and management to ensure clear communication and issue resolution
Operations & Workflow Management
- Monitor daily productivity, quality metrics and turnaround times
- Assign work, balance workloads and manage workflow to meet service expectations
- Oversee staff schedules and coverage to ensure operational needs are met
- Ensure tasks are completed accurately and within established timelines
Technical Support & Quality Oversight
- Assist with benefit interpretation, complex claim questions and problem resolution
- Conduct quality reviews and provide feedback, training and corrective guidance as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and customer experience
Documentation & Communication
- Assist in the development, maintenance and updating of internal policies, procedures and training materials
- Communicate with members, clients and internal partners when necessary
- Reinforce organizational policies, procedures, and service standards
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in medical claims processing or health care administration
- Prior supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of benefit interpretation, claims workflows and customer service operations
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated leadership capability and team-focused mindset
- Reliable attendance and professional conduct
