Position Summary

Blue Water Benefits Administrators is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager to lead and develop a high-performing operational team within our health care administration environment. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day department operations, staffing, compliance, and performance while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and service-driven culture.

The ideal candidate is a proven people leader with a strong background in medical claims processing, operational oversight, and continuous improvement who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of professionals to achieve operational, quality, and service goals
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and development plans for all team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and corrective actions as appropriate
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members

Operations & Performance Management

  • Oversee daily departmental operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor workloads, productivity, and staffing levels to meet service standards and business demands
  • Develop and track departmental goals, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify workflow gaps and implement process enhancements to improve quality and turnaround times

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and client performance expectations
  • Regularly review and update departmental procedures and training materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and client needs

Communication & Reporting

  • Serve as a key liaison between staff and senior leadership
  • Prepare and present operational reports, metrics, and improvement plans
  • Promote open communication, engagement, and accountability across the team

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8–10 years of leadership experience, preferably in health care administration or insurance operations
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in medical claims processing or related functions
  • Demonstrated success managing teams, workflows, and performance metrics
  • Strong understanding of health care operations, compliance, and service delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and professionalism
